Description: Sheryl Burgstahler, Ph.D., is an expert on universal design and inclusive learning environments. Burgstahler is an affiliate professor in Education and the director of Accessible Technology Services at the University of Washington in Seattle. She is the author of Universal Design in Higher Education: From Principles to Practice. She is a popular speaker on how universal and related proactive design strategies can promote an inclusive culture by making learning activities, technology, physical spaces, and student services at postsecondary institutions welcoming and accessible to everyone.

Description: The goal of this evaluation is to assess the needs of the populations of Douglas and Sarpy counties related to services provided by the Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership (ENCAP), and to assist ENCAP to create new programs to help meet unmet needs. The evaluation will include a the development of a logic model, a review of existing data and literature on national trends, demographic analysis of the specified counties, qualitative analysis of interviews with key informants and focus groups, and recommendations for revisions to existing programs.

Description: Assist in the development of assessment instruments to be used by DCDC to identify risk and need factors among their inmate population. Provide a descriptive analysis of the inmate population admitted during a six-month period in 2017, including the risks and needs posed by those inmates. Conduct an analysis of the predictive validity of the inmate assessment instruments used by DCDC.
