Description: Students enrolled in Steve Schulz BSAD 8356-850/SCMT 4350-850: Global Sourcing and innovation will work in small teams with partners on their specific identified needs. Description: UNO students enrolled in Kersten Borer SOWK 1500-001; Social Work and Civic Engagement, work alongside Ms. Amy Cerra’s Omaha South Pottery Class to support the staff from the D2 Center and help with burnout prevention. UNO students will design a workshop to support and encourage the D2 staff. In addition, UNO students will partner with Ms. Cerra’s Pottery Class who will help to support the D2 staff.

Description: UNO students enrolled in Kersten Borer SOWK 1500-001: Social Work and Civic Engagement, work with the DSA Programs and sign up for events through Sign Up Genius. UNO students support programming throughout the semester and have the opportunity to participate in the Improv groups that happen on Saturdays for 3 hours in the morning, Down to Box group that happens on Saturdays, later in the day, which is open to all physical levels, a list of fall activities, and the DSA walk.

Description: School-based programs help provide educational support, training and/or supervision for youth where academic and/or behavioral problems originated in the school setting. There are four types of school-based programs: After School, Alternative School, School Interventionist, and School Resource Officers. After-school programs provide activities during the summer and after-school time frames to give youth a place to be engaged in constructive activity in order to reduce juvenile crime. This can include tutoring services or other educational support for youth.

Description: UNO speech-language pathology (SLP) graduate students enrolled in CDIS 8540 (001): Autism Spectrum Disorders, will have the opportunity to engage in a service-learning project encompassing interdisciplinary collaboration with Creighton occupational therapy (OT) students. UNO and Creighton students will design activities for participants on the autism spectrum to build upon various gross motor and speech skills during the annual Autism Society of Nebraska (ASN) Fall Festival. UNO graduate students will apply knowledge gained through course content and presentations to this project.
