Description : UNO students hired as Collaborative interns are matched with community organizations, Students are paid through the grant-funded program. Nonprofits coordinate meaningful work for interns to benefit the student experience in different ways. Students typically intern during the fall and spring semesters and may serve the same organization for more than one academic year. Each unique student that works as a Collaborative intern with this specific community partner is identified within this project.

Description : Students in the class will work to develop prototypes of innovative technologies that seek to answer the question: "What would make the Omaha metro area a better place to live?" The focus of the project will be to develop technologies that enable equitable access to housing and transportation, as identified by the community partners. Students will go through the whole UCD process including contextual inquiry with experts in urban planning and development to community and neighborhood leaders to determine user needs. At the end of the semester, they will develop and test prototypes for technologies that help address identified goals.

Description : MACCH had an ongoing partnership with MavPR from 2015-2019. Our partnership with Professor Karen Weber led to revisions to MACCH’s website and a redesign of MACCH’s logo. Upon logo redesign, the partnership included the development of marketing materials (brochure, “5 Facts” card, business cards, and a display banner). MavPR also provided ongoing engagement with local news media, created numerous press releases, and began the development of videos for future use on MACCH’s website.

Description : MACCH partners annually with the Advanced Community Practice course taught by Dr. Nancy Kelley, serving as a guest presenter for the course, educating on the services provided, and the collective impact model of community service delivery. MACCH engages with students outside of the single-day presentation to answer questions and assist with coursework related to collective impact. Students have also been connected with several MACCH partner organizations for volunteer opportunities stemming from this partnership.

Description : Students enrolled in SOWK 1500 are working with a variety of non-profits in the area. In doing this work, students are able to learn about the needs of diverse populations throughout the Omaha area.
