Description : GWO is an ongoing partnership between Dr. Ritzman’s SPED 4750 Childhood Language Disorders class and Blackburn Alternative Program (BAP) high school students. Each year, the project has a different focus and community partner. This year, the project focus was on the 30 Americans exhibit at the Joslyn Art Museum. The UNO students taught 5 sessions throughout the semester in either Ms. Colon (English and Yearbook) or Ms. George (Arts and Computer Graphics) classes. SPED 4750 students learned to work hands-on in any type of classroom (“Language is Everywhere”) and BAP students received learning assistance in their respective classrooms. As a community partner, the Joslyn Art Museum worked with the Blackburn students to create podcasts focusing on the various art installments at the Joslyn. The Blackburn students’ podcasts can be heard on the Joslyn Art Museum's YouTube channel.
