Description :
As part of the program UNO and UNMC students spend two weeks working with medical students at University of Gitwe (UG). Gitwe is a rural community located 3 hours from Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. While in Rwanda, students observe the rural health care system, and its surrounding community health clinics; collaborate with UG medical students to produce a 10-15 minute long e-Learning module; cultivate intercultural awareness, cultural humility and professionalism; witness the impact of infectious diseases on families and the larger community; and develop experiential knowledge.
