Description : The goals of Sound Health are to contribute to a healing environment; to give music student service- learning opportunities; and to break down the “fourth wall” barriers, connecting musicians to their audiences and vice versa. Since its inception, Sound Health has provided over 100 performances by over 100 musicians for thousands of patients, staff, and visitors. During the fall 2017 semester, approximately 40 students participated in Sound Health and Sound Health - Performances and Reflections served as the culminating celebration of the fall semester. The purpose of the event was to enjoy performances by Sound Health musicians; hear how they were affected by their experience; share listener feedback; recognize students who have performed; and promote engagement between musicians, listeners, and community.
