Description : On four subsequent Tuesdays beginning 9/21/21, UNO and Blackburn students will work together to identify how Blackburn (and Big Muddy) can reduce landfill waste/plastic use in our environment from lunch waste. It will start with UNO students conducting a "waste sort" on the UNO campus, then visit Blackburn to teach and go through the process with students. The goal is to include Big Muddy in the process and help them identify their areas of waste. SUST 1000 (001, 002) P-16 Project

Description : UNO students enrolled in Kersten Borer SOWK 1500-001: Social Work and Civic Engagement will research selected sites in ADL’s Walk Against Hate and interview community members who have a connection to the site. These interviews are recorded and turned into videos (Vidgrid) or podcasts that are played on the ADL website (adlplains.org). Students can also provide essays, artwork, or blurbs about their thoughts associated with the site. In addition, UNO students work alongside the Secondary Success Program (SSP) and Blackburn Art students to create pieces of art for a site or two in ADL’s Walk Against Hate. UNO students will meet with the SSP and Blackburn students to share about the interviews that will inspire the artwork.
