Description : The Schwalb Center for Israel & Jewish Studies in conjunction with UNO International Programs is pleased to host Dr. William Lawrence as the keynote for the 2017 International Education Week. Dr. Lawrence is currently a Visiting Professor at the Elliot School of International Affairs at the George Washington University. He was a former State Department Senior Advisor for Global Engagement- International Crisis Group North Africa Director- and Control Risks Associate Director for Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Dr. Lawrence was also a friend of the late Dr. Moshe Gershovich. His presentation will focus on MENA region.

Description : MACCH partners annually with the Advanced Community Practice course taught by Dr. Nancy Kelley, serving as a guest presenter for the course, educating on the services provided, and the collective impact model of community service delivery. MACCH engages with students outside of the single-day presentation to answer questions and assist with coursework related to collective impact. Students have also been connected with several MACCH partner organizations for volunteer opportunities stemming from this partnership.

Description : Nebraska Shakespeare's artistic director and director of education have been guest instructors for multiple Fine Arts Theatre/Communication courses (Acting I, Acting II, and Voice for the Actor). Averaging 4-5 classroom visits per semester. In addition, each spring Nebraska Shakespeare’s Shakespeare On The Silver Screen partners with UNO professor, D. Scott Glasser, to engage in discussion and dialogue with our film viewing audience.

Description : During this in-depth lecture, author and scholar Rabbi Kronish will discuss the complex political, religious and historical issues Israel faces today. A seasoned dialogue partner with Muslims and Christians, Dr. Kronish will share his experience. Through memorable incidents and inspirational stories, he offers insights into the obstacles and challenges, as well as the achievements and success of inter-religious action programs.
