Description : The UB&NA worked with Assistant Dean of Business, Lynn Harland and a Masters degree level student who completed his Capstone Project by providing a Business Assessment plan for EAB Management. He created a model for measuring cost-effectiveness for EAB as related to Ash trees. Jim Grener presented us with a business assessment financial analysis templet model for cost for EAB ash tree management. This templet served as a financial analysis that would be used to help donors understand the cost of replacement and what their funds would pay for. Our organization evaluated 13 presentations and served on the panel to assess student performance and outcome. This was a large part of the final student grade.

Description : The Newman Center Bible garden landscape and the papio-creek tree planting event drew Newman Center students and UNO engineering students from Avery Schwer and Bing Chen’s classes at UNL, Creighton Biology and sustainability students and the College of Saint Mary’s Earth Science course students. Students from the UNO Center for Urban Sustainability participated in the event. Approximately 69 UNO and UNL students and boy scouts volunteered that day. Surrounding neighborhood residents participated also. We received much media coverage. The Newman Center garden and raised beds event had an estimated 25-30 Newman Center students participating in the planting of shrubs and perennials.
