Zoo Project (Fall 2017): 2017-18 Educational Support, Environmental Stewardship Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, Our Lady of Lourdes Psychology, Service Learning Academy (SLA) Service Learning Course None Fall 2017-18 None None 13 156 0 23 253 0 STEM/STEM Education, Wildlife/Animal Welfare Rose Strasser's UNO Animal Behavior Lab worked with Shelly Brown's 8th grade OLL science students. The students observed animals at Henry Doorly Zoo and then did additional research regarding the issues the zoo had previously identified on the selected animals. Students created poster presentations and presented their findings at Our Lady of Lourdes in the late fall.

Students observed animals at Henry Doorly Zoo and did additional research regarding the issue the zoo identified. Students then did poster presentations at OLL to share their findings. Joslyn Geology (Spring 2018): 2017-18 Arts, Culture and Humanities, Educational Support Joslyn Art Museum, Our Lady of Lourdes Service Learning Academy (SLA) Service Learning Course None Spring 2017-18 None None 4 40 0 37 3,626 0 STEM/STEM Education, Art UNO Geology students and Our Lady of Lourdes 7th grade science students will be analyzing specific pieces of art in the Joslyn’s European exhibit to identify geological features and processes, such as the water and rock cycle. The UNO students will be facilitating the discussion at the Joslyn as well as partnering with the 7th graders on their final project. Throughout the semester, Ms. Shelley Brown’s students will create a geologically focused game for the Joslyn’s Education Center.
