Hosted event in CEC space. Panelists included Christina Running Hawk Ellison of the Lakota Oglala Sioux, Jordan Zendejas of the Umo Ho Tribe of Nebraska, Grace Johnson of the Oglala Lakota, and moderated by Echohawk Lefthand of the Diné Tribe. Panelists discussed concerns around the appropriation of native and indigenous cultures, specifically addressing the importance of medicines and their sustainability, missing, and murdered Indigenous women, and mascots. The afternoon concluded with panelists encouraging the audience to learn about native and Indigenous history and culture. They reminded the audience that it is okay to appreciate the culture and heritage of native and Indigenous peoples without appropriating and changing the narrative
