Over the decades, the coalition experienced periods of variable activity and dormancy depending on the state's economy, organizational priorities, and the personalities and mindsets of library directors. Beginning in 2015, the collaborative effort reengaged, broadened its membership, changed its name, and implemented a formal MOU. More importantly, UNCL members utilized this unity to share resources and secure materials benefiting all members of the consortium. In this program, deans and a director from the new University of Nebraska Consortium of Libraries will share the development of UNCL, the issues and obstacles of a system-wide collaboration, the significant benefits of the organization, the verbal and monetary encouragement bestowed upon UNCL by the UN System President, and the consortium's future plans and possibilities.
