They will meet a minimum of three times over Zoom or in-person, if the community partner and the student agree on. Students will work individually to create a PR strategy that meets the community partner's needs. The PR Strategy will be presented by the student and the video will be shared to the community partner by the end of the semester.

Organizations were able to share their missions and activities in order for students to think about how they can get involved. Organizations reported that students took the information, and many see opportunities for follow-up engagement.
Elevate Omaha Intern: Social Work (Spring 2022): 2021-22 (2457) Educational Support, Social Justice Elevate Omaha Inc Social Work Community-Based Learning Field Study or Practicum None Spring 2021-22 None 1 256 0 0 0 0 Capacity Building The student will work with advocacy and grant-making pillars. Adds capacity, the student has more experience in grant-making and will help us to develop this aspect, she has policy and policy writing experiences (possibly to provide training in that area as well). Lucia as Elevate Omaha staff gets to take part and experience supervisory training. This project gives the UNO social work student real world experience, the social work department itself benefits in terms of having an additional practicum site

For example, WhyArts shared teaching artist opportunities with students while creating a group art project.

Students must have a minimum of 20 -25 hours of service-learning project (SLP) time during the semester. Service hours will be integrated into class time throughout the semester, though students will have to complete some of the required hours outside of the designated class time. A capstone project presentation will provide an overview of the community partner, its mission, and what leadership skills and strategies students utilized to assist the partner throughout the semester.
