This report shows the various collaborative projects between UNO and the community. Various filters are provided to gain a better understanding of how different UNO units collaborate with the community.

ROTC Leadership (Spring 2018): 2017-18 Educational Support Alliance for a Better Omaha, Millard South High School, Millard Public Schools Arnold Airforce Society, Service Learning Academy (SLA) Service Learning Course None Spring 2017-18 None None 75 900 0 75 675 0 Leadership and Mentoring UNO students from the Arnold Society of ROTC will work with Millard High School Junior ROTC cadets to provide an introduction to the UNO ROTC program, mentorship and a visit to campus. The campus visits will be to demonstrate followership and leadership opportunities for MSHS juniors and seniors. Freshmen and sophomores will also collaborate on two activities at Together Inc. While there students will work on reorganizing the pantry at Together Inc. and preparing garden beds for the organization's community garden.

They will also collaborate on two Mobile Food Pantry service opportunities for Veterans in the community. They are collaborating with Alliance for a Better Omaha to arrange the Food Pantries.

ROTC Leadership (Spring 2018): 2017-18 (772) Educational Support Hunger Collaborative, Millard South High School, Millard Public Schools Air Force ROTC, Service Learning Academy (SLA) Service Learning Course None Spring 2017-18 None None 4 44 0 50 13 0 Leadership and Mentoring UNO students from Arnold Air Society, Millard South High School and the Hunger Collaborative have partnered together for several events in the spring semester, including mentorship days and service days, as well as a large service project at the annual drill meet. Students from Arnold Air have mentored Millard South JRTOC cadets by providing them a college prep day, meeting with them prior to the drill meet, and putting the Millard cadets in charge of completing the large service project (at the drill meet). This project included various tasks like putting together move-in kits and blankets for homeless veterans. This event was on a Saturday for the majority of the duration of the drill meet. The Millard cadets also came to campus to learn about college and also went to Together Inc. to work on the pantry with AAS UNO students for continued mentorship and to serve their community partner. ROTC Leadership (Fall 2016): 2016-17 (001) Educational Support Hunger Collaborative, Millard South High School, Millard Public Schools Air Force ROTC, Service Learning Academy (SLA) Service Learning Course None Fall 2016-17 None None 8 176 0 86 258 0 Leadership and Mentoring UNO students from ROTC work together with Millard South JROTC on leadership and mentoring high school students in order to promote joining ROTC in college and finding UNO as a place they can be. UNO students meet with Millard Students in two interactions to facilitate a relationship and work together to plan a service project with the Hunger Collaborative. UNO ROTC host a mentorship day which they planned and executed. Once the service is completed, the Millard South students will also be in charge of running the service project at the February annual drill meet to utilize their new leadership skills.

The high school students heard about the profession and learned about how to obtain a degree in this field, as well as the work that these professionals do. The UNO students traveled to one high school/program of their choice with a partner and provided the presentation to the class.

JROTC Leadership (Spring 2020): 2019-20 (1197) Economic Impact, Educational Support Millard South High School, Millard Public Schools, Together Inc Air Force ROTC, Arnold Airforce Society, Service Learning Academy (SLA) Service Learning Course None Spring 2019-20 Spring 2019-20 5 0 0 0 0 0 Food and Water Security, Leadership and Mentoring This project was canceled due to COVID-19. Students from UNO’s ROTC Arnold Society (an Air Force Service Society) was planning to work on providing exposure to the UNO ROTC program to MSHS JROTC upper class students. JROTC students would have come to campus, and be provided with an overview of the ROTC program, tours of campus and the chance to participate in ROTC-led leadership activities. At Together, MSHS JROTC would have participated and assisted in servicing a regular food pantry for the public and removing their garden for relocation.

JROTC students came to campus, learned about the ROTC program, received information about scholarships and admissions; they received tours of campus and participated in ROTC-led leadership activities. At Together, MSHS JROTC participated and assisted in removing the garden for a parking lot install. A second project event is scheduled for Spring 2020
