Consumer use of credit cards has been related to their desire to fulfill their lifestyle needs, reflect their status in the society, and achieve their goals in life (Bernthal, Crockett, and Rose 2005; Hirschman 1979; Peñaloza and Barnhart 2011).

The talk explores conventions and techniques mosaicists, illuminators, panel painters, and graphic artists used to try to capture in two dimensions the complex reality of buildings and cityscapes - from the early Middle Ages to the cusp of the Renaissance.
