Due to restrictions on volunteers and visitors in health care facilities, UNO School of Music students will mentor Central High School Orchestra students via ZOOM on their pieces. The final video performances of Central High School Orchestra students will be shared with the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center Healing Arts program and made available in patient rooms on the Healing Arts channel.

The Service Learning component for UNO students includes guest lectures, readings, and collaboration at Millard North HS (MNHS) during which time UNO music students will mentor and work with MNHS students under the guidance of Debbie Martinez and Mary Perkinson. Students at MNHS and UNO will prepare a program that will be performed collaboratively at UNMC Cancer Center on 12/4.

Learn more about the prevalence of domestic violence, brain injury and co-occurring conditions, brain injury screening tools, and community resources. This workshop is open to human service professionals, emergency management professionals, first responders, and versions interested in identifying and responding to the unmet needs of domestic violence victims. 3 Nebraska Social Work and Mental Health Practice CEU's available.

Panelists will share their life experiences, as well as lessons learned, as they inspire others to consider STEM careers. Panelists are: Deann Akins-Lewenthal, Ph.D., director of food safety and microbiology for Conagra Brands; Lydia Kang M.D., assistant professor of internal medicine at UNMC and author of historical, young adult and non-fiction books including: ""Quackery: A Brief History of the Worst Ways to Cure Everything"" (co-authored with Nate Pedersen); Amelia Tangeman, STEM outreach coordinator at the University of Nebraska at Omaha; and Nicole Mitchell, coordinator, the Whitney Young Academy and Project Ready, Urban League of Nebraska.

Information System Service Learning Project (Fall 2023): 2023-24 (3192) Educational Support University of Nebraska Medical Center Information Systems and Quantitative Analysis Service Learning None None Fall 2023-24 None 18 432 0 0 0 0 The project focuses on assisting community partners in designing tailored information systems to address their unique needs. Students will actively engage in problem-solving for their partners, leveraging technology to create effective solutions. The emphasis is on constructing a solution that aligns with the client's requirements. Throughout the semester, students will conduct approximately five meetings with their clients, either to understand project requirements or review demonstrations. The culmination of the project involves a final presentation, attended by the client, showcasing the solutions developed by each group. Groups, consisting of 4-5 students, will work with one of the four identified partners, with the option for students to propose additional partners for other groups. Traditional ISQA 4110.001
