Mark Frailey and Kaitlyn Rider will guide the students on working with the buckskin pieces influenced by Native American culture. The Buckskin Buddies are being featured in the UNO Library this spring.

They used Flipgrid to create an environment to discuss topics such as Redlining in Omaha. The Expo represents a collaborative effort between the SPIRIT Project and the Nebraska 4-H Youth Development project, and FIRST® LEGO® League to create an outstanding robotics competition for about 1,000 of our local and greater Nebraska area youth. As you cheer on our future scientists and engineers, we encourage you to visit the CEENBoTTM Showcase, FIRST LEGO League events, sponsor booths, and museum exhibits.
Partners in Performance (Spring 2017): 2016-17 (001) Arts, Culture and Humanities, Educational Support Bryan High School, Omaha Public Schools, North High, Omaha Public Schools, Omaha Area Youth Orchestra Music, Service Learning Academy (SLA) Service Learning Course None Spring 2016-17 None None 10 122 0 165 1,237 0 Music/Dance Faculty and students from UNO, OAYO, North and Bryan will build musical relationships, and explore communication, leadership, mentorship, and pedagogical skills.   An on campus clinic will be held for on one day for  high school students to participate in campus visits, on campus lunch and on campus, in depth clinic activities with conductors and UNO musicians.  A side by side concert will also be held with the Heartland Philharmonic, Bryan and North High Schools.
Sacred Circle (Spring 2018): 2017-18 (822) Social Justice North High, Omaha Public Schools Service Learning Academy (SLA), Spirituality, Public Health, Religious Studies (SPHRS) Service Learning Course None Spring 2017-18 None None 5 21 0 8 9 0 UNO students from the Indigenous Research Methods ANTH 4920 class met during lunch with students from North High's Native Indigenous Centered Education (N.I.C.E.) program to discuss different indigenous ways of being, knowing, and doing through meaningful discussions and activities. Students had a chance to partake in the Enslaved Exhibit at UNO which inspired them to display their own showcase of different arts that represented them, their indigenous culture, and what they learned throughout the course of the project from their discussions and trip to the Indian Industrialization School in Genoa, Nebraska.

The workshop will introduce them to the political process and possibly encourage them to run for office one day by inviting locally elected women officals to share their experiences and allowing the young women to practice developing a mock political campaign.

There is an exhibit coming to UNO featuring his paintings. They will break into small groups and discuss paintings focused on Holocaust, justice, and human rights. Omaha North students will be giving a tour of UNO's art gallery.

CHEM IN ENVIRONMENT & SOCIETY(Spring 2023): 2022-23 (3333) Educational Support North High, Omaha Public Schools Chemistry Service Learning None None Spring 2022-23 None 27 440 0 0 0 0 A study of modern society's impact on our environment and the chemistry needed to understand it. The primary focus is the underlying chemistry of the effects of energy production and properties of fuels while including social, political and economic connections. Impacts on air and water quality, climate change, and fossil fuels are discussed. Additional course topics may also include the ozone layer, plastics, medicine and nutrition.
