Description : Nebraska HeartBeats is a collaborative project that aims to improve the quality of life of people affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) through participatory, creative musical experiences with the University of Nebraska at Omaha Maverick String Quartet. The goal of Nebraska HeartBeats is to provide social and emotional support to individuals and their care partners affected by ADRD. Through an adaptive music curriculum that focuses on musician/participant interaction, the UNO Maverick String Quartet aims to address the emotional and social needs of participants while contributing to the environment of care.

Description : Anna Monardo was one of 122 contributors for a global virtual translation project during Summer 2020 to translate from French into English a comic blog that originally appeared in the French newspaper, LE MONDE. Written by Fiamma Luzzatti between March and June 2020, L'Avventura chronicles the lives of ordinary people living through the pandemic in Europe.

Description : In this article Melodae Morris wrote about the work being done to create characters for animated and print lessons as a part of the NE STEM4U program to create and field test new educational experiences as a part of the Nebraska Children’s and Families Foundation and Beyond School Bells Expanded Learning Opportunities: Centers of Excellence grant. The article also discusses the College of Communication Fine Arts and Media, School of Communication participation.

Description : The University of Nebraska at Omaha, with the National Strategic Research Institute at the University of Nebraska, has been awarded a contract with U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) to streamline and update database processes to increase efficiencies for the command’s personnel team.

Description : CPAR worked with the Nebraska Community Foundation to conduct the Nebraska Youth Survey. Over 1,000 high school students in greater Nebraska responded. The results reveal the priorities, values, and desires of these individuals as well as factor that may influence their decision to return to or remain in Greater Nebraska in the future.

Description : The mass entrepreneurship policy has introduced a new era of sustainable development in China. Yet, the policy alone does not describe how individuals and organizations might pursue this new approach to economic expansion. In this paper, Xiaoming Yang and his co-author suggest that under this new policy, partnerships between social ventures and donors, beneficiaries, and government agencies serve as a vehicle to co-create value for sustainable development.
