Description : The intern attended county meetings, created training brochures, designed an advertisement, updated application booklets, and assisted with interviews. The intern also helped plan and run an MRC booth in North Omaha.

Description : During the internship, the intern supported the development and distribution of promotional materials, correspondence and event communications. The intern also assisted with the creation and implementation of worksite wellness documents and tools. The intern was also responsible for planning and executing an event of the organization. Description : The intern assisted with the development of a variety of initiatives. At the Chamber of Commerce, the intern supported and promoted the Greater Omaha Young Professionals organization. The intern developed digital content for the YP Newsletter and managed the YP social media channels in an effort to increase engagement. Lastly, the intern worked on the Chamber’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Description : As part of the program UNO and UNMC students spend two weeks working with medical students at University of Gitwe (UG). Gitwe is a rural community located 3 hours from Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. While in Rwanda, students observe the rural health care system, and its surrounding community health clinics; collaborate with UG medical students to produce a 10-15 minute long e-Learning module; cultivate intercultural awareness, cultural humility and professionalism; witness the impact of infectious diseases on families and the larger community; and develop experiential knowledge.

Description : The gallery will feature nationally-curated art meant for more senses than sight, tactile interpretations of classic art, and artwork created at four art workshops for the visually impaired, which were held at UNO over the summer. The name of the exhibit says it all: this art is meant to be touched. The art workshops were made possible with assistance from the Nebraska Arts Council, WhyArts?, Omaha Association of the Blind, Outlook Nebraska, Pamela Duncan (interpreter), and volunteer student interpreters from UNO.
