We collected information from 12 state and local sources including child welfare, legal services, and law enforcement data. We collected the data from agency records dating 2013 to 2018. However, the majority of data were from calendar years 2014, 2015, and 2016 (roughly 95% across individual and aggregate sources). We used probabilistic matching to estimate victim and at-risk cases-accounting for duplicates.Results. According to available data, there were 1032 known victims during the study time frame. We identified approximately 4209 at-risk individuals based on youths presenting with common risk factors for trafficking victimization.Conclusions. Estimating the prevalence of human trafficking is an important public health research priority. As the first "cataloging" of existing record systems in Ohio to our knowledge, this study provided a comprehensive overview of the number of victims and the type of information that is available in the state. This study highlights the importance of moving toward the use of epidemiological approaches to measure the prevalence of human trafficking.

Utilizing Foucault’s (1980) framework of governmentality, this study draws out the role of self-sufficiency in grooming teens to self-govern and how community stakeholders see themselves as interventionists while at times struggling with cultural and religious practices.

They extend the prototypical macro health model in several directions. Their model considers the impact of health on labor earning and medical spending. Moreover, they identify a "health premium" of insurance coverage that the insured is more likely to stay healthy or recover from unhealthy status. They hence modeled the effects of income on health and mortality risk through endogenous health insurance choice. All these extensions are essential to simulate the observed joint distribution of income and health status, household's health insurance choice, and medical spending by income level and over their life cycle. Quantitative analysis reveals a significant impact of individual's income in early life on their health at adulthood, which will be reinforced by and subsequently amplify the negative effect of bad health on labor earning and income inequality. They conducted comparative analysis of health policies intended to alleviate health disparity and income inequality. Providing universal insurance coverage will narrow the health and life expectancy gap. Such policy benefits lower skilled the most, which adds additional weight to the poor in the aggregate income distribution and counteracts the positive effect of improved health on income inequality. While the implementation of universal basic income reduces income inequality and mean-tested public insurance will attenuate its effect on health disparity.
