Description : "Wednesdays from 5:00-8:00 pm, UNO students will be working with group facilitators to co-facilitate and direct a parenting class group and a family group on Wednesday evenings. Throughout these groups, UNO students will help with infant/toddler care, school-aged ‘Kids Club’, and observing staff facilitated parenting class as well as a Celebrating Families! curriculum group. UNO students will utilize the evidence-based questionnaire, Ages & Stages, to create developmentally appropriate activates for older children in the program. Students will also meet prior to and after the groups for supervision and reflection meetings. "

Description : Students will produce several administrative and media projects related to community-based mental health. They will also learn basic intervention, assessment, and social support skills in relation to persons with a severe and persistent mental illness. At the end of the semester, students will present research findings and products to the ACT team.

Description : The intern worked with the organization’s data to create internal scoring metrics to be used to rate the performance of the programs at the site. Through this project, the intern learned how to apply data analysis techniques to real data.

Description : The evaluation activities below are designed to build on STEPs work with the PMP Coalition in previous years to provide evidence for the coalition to use in assessing need and providing services. For this work plan, STEPs will provide a community assessment on marijuana in Iowa and Nebraska as well as provide various evaluation services for the PMP Coalition, including an evaluation plan, curriculum consultations, and facilitated discussion on next steps on evaluation.

Description : The purpose of this evaluation is to provide a process and outcome evaluation of Heartland Family Service's Healthy Alternatives to Little Ones (HALO) program, and to move HALO toward meeting current evidence-based standards. HALO is an early childhood substance abuse prevention program. We will conduct a literature review, prepare a logic model, conduct a survey of current providers, and conduct a quasi-experimental prospective study.
