Description: This course is a hands-on approach to magazines as an area of specialization involving development of editorial objectives and content, planning, writing articles, design and layout for magazine production and management. Students interview alumni who work in various organizations to tell their stories.

Description: This course combines broadcasting skills from radio, television, news writing, reporting, news video, and editing. The course also emphasizes fieldwork and prepares students for life in the newsroom and creative environments.

Description: Shakespeare worked with Jack Zerbe of the Theatre Department and KVNO Radio to create a Midsummer Night's Dream Radio Show, which had two airings on the station.

Description: UNO Education students in Dr. Sandra Rodriguez-Arroyo's TED 8130: Language, Culture, and Power course work with youth from Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands to create presentations about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on language, culture, and power. Through the project, the students build relationships with each other in virtual meeting rooms by participating in activities and small group discussion. The goal of the interactions is to empower the Boys & Girls Club students in developing their own voice and power while UNO students receive firsthand experience in discussing and applying course topics and frameworks. Description: UNO students enrolled in CDIS 4420: Early Language Development, participated in a service learning project in collaboration with the LCC-SO Educational Navigators.
