Description : This course fosters collaboration between the University, students, and local entrepreneurs in a give/get model. Students support a local entrepreneur by applying classroom knowledge through the Partner Sales Plan Project, which includes a written sales plan, verbal presentation, prospect slide deck role play, and partner prospect call with reflection. Partners introduce students to the Omaha entrepreneurial ecosystem, provide a mini training module, and connect students with relevant members to support the completion of the final project. Description : This service-learning project partnered students from two University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) courses with the Center for Immigrant and Refugee Advancement (CIRA) to provide hands-on support for refugee resettlement and explore career paths in the non-profit sector. Students had the opportunity to visit a CIRA apartment designated for a refugee family, where they assisted with setting up furniture and household items. This experience allowed them to gain firsthand experience in the resettlement process and understand the challenges faced by newcomers. In addition, CIRA staff members visited UNO to share their personal and professional journeys, providing students with insights into the rewards and challenges of working with refugee populations. These presentations aimed to inspire students to consider careers in non-profit organizations serving community needs. EXPL 1010.001 Traditional
